Monday, Sept. 19th update
We will have a very busy week with meets on Thursday at Warrior’s Path, Saturday at Steele Creek Park, and Tuesday at Beacon School grounds in Greeneville.
Monday and Tuesday, practice as scheduled until 4:00.
Thursday, Sept 22nd, Warrior’s Path. We will load 3 vans at 3:15 from our pick up circle and one van will return to LBMS after the meet.
Friday, Sept. 23rd – no practice. SHHS homecoming.
Saturday, Sept. 24th, Steele Creek Park. We will load 2 vans at 11:30 from SHHS parking lot and one van will return to SHHS after the meet.
Monday, Sept. 26th – practice as scheduled.
Tuesday, Sept. 27th, Beacon School – Greeneville. We will load 3 vans at 3:15 from our pick up circle and one van will return to LBMS after the meet.
This race will have Varsity and Jr. Varsity races. Ten will be registered for varsity, but only 7 will be able to run in the varsity race. All others will run in a combined JV race. We will be explaining this to our runners and informing them of who will be in which group. Then if our teams come in the top 3, they will qualify for the State meet in Clarksville on the 8th of October. We won’t know until after the qualifying meet in Greeneville!!
Thursday, Sept. 29th – we will celebrate our season at our last practice/fun run!! More info to follow!
Directions to Steele Creek:
Steele Creek Park – Take 11E toward Bristol and exit off at Hwy. 394 west (Bluff City/Blountville). Turn left toward Blountville. Turn right at the 2nd traffic light. (Food City) Turn right on Hwy 126 East for about six miles. Drive past Akard Elementary School and look for the sign on the right to Steele Creek Park. Follow signs to the park. (You may have to pay $1 to enter the park)

Don’t forget to remind runners to wear or bring their uniform for our team picture after school on Friday!
I’ve gotten word that parking is going to be a problem on Saturday! They are encouraging parents to carpool! The high school and elementary races are first, so maybe some of them will leave after their race! We run last!!
Remember we are leaving from SHHS parking lot at 9:30 Saturday morning. And one van will return to SHHS parking lot after the race!
It’s going to be HOT HOT HOT!! Don’t forget your water. We’ll remind runners to hydrate their bodies!!

Monday, Sept. 12th - update
We will have a full week of practice since we have a meet on Saturday at Fender’s Farm – Practice Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday until 4:00.
We originally thought that this Friday was SHHS homecoming, but it is the following Friday, Sept. 23rd. This Friday, the 16th , is our group picture that will go in the yearbook! We need everyone to be present on Friday after school for practice and a group picture. Wear or bring your uniform for the picture.
Tuesday, Sept. 13th is our homecoming at LBMS. We will have a pep rally for 7th from 1:10-1:40 and 8th from 2:00 – 2:35. Our runners decided to all wear their gold tee shirts. They will be introduced at the pep rally.
Saturday, Sept. 17th – we will leave SHHS parking lot at 9:30. We will be taking 2 vans. Please let us know if you plan to take your child directly to the meet. Boys run at 11:00 and girls at 11:30. There will be an elementary race at 10:40 for any young runner interested - $5.

Wednesday, Sept. 7th - update

- The Duncan family for supplying the team with a tent to keep us dry and shaded!!
- And all the parents bringing snacks!! We appreciate everyone for all your support this season.
Thursday, 9/8, we run at Warrior’s Path State Park. Girls at 4:25 and boys at 4:45. Awards at 5:15.
Elementary race at 4:15 (K-5TH grades) for younger siblings (if interested). Cost is $5.00 per runner.
We will leave LBMS at 3:15 on three activity vans and one van will return to LBMS after the meet. Remember to check out with us if your child is going home with you from the meet.
6th grade students will ride over with Coach Nutter from IT IS to LBMS. Meet in Nutter’s room at 2:20 for early dismissal!!
Directions:
Warrior’s Path State Park - Take Hwy. 36 toward Kingsport. Go approximately 10 miles and turn right on Colonial Heights Road. Go about 2 miles and cross RR tracks and turn right at the intersection. Take your first right into the park. We begin the race at the soccer fields toward the back of the park.

Tuesday, August 30th - update
Our next meet is Thursday, Sept. 1st in Greeneville. Boys race at 5:00 and girls at 5:20. We will load 3 vans after school from our pick up circle and 1 van will return to our LB circle after the meet.
Directions: Travel toward Greeneville on 11E. Go approximately 30 miles and exit to the right at the TN-70 split. At the bottom of the ramp, turn left and then turn right onto TN-70 bypass. The field will be on the left. Travel time is approximately 45 minutes. If you are using a GPS, use the address: 1485 TN-70 Bypass. The course is across the road from this address. They will be charging $2 donation per car. Parking along the road will not be permitted.
Since this meet is later than our usual, please send a snack or extra food at lunch and don't forget water!!!
We will not have practice on Friday, September 2nd! Have a nice long Labor Day weekend!

Friday, August 26th
Our first cross country meet is this Saturday, August 27th, at South Holston Dam in Bristol. We will be leaving at 9:30 from the Science Hill main parking lot in front of the gym! Girls run at 11:15 and boys at 11:45! One activity van will be returning to SH parking lot after the meet.
Please let us know if you plan to drop your child off at SH to ride with us or if you plan to just meet us there!
South Holston Dam – From JC take Bristol Hwy to Bluff City/Blountville Exit (Tn Hwy 394). Turn right at exit ramp – East. Travel approximately 7 miles – take 421 South. Go approximately 3 miles and turn right on Emmett Road. Follow signs to the Dam. Buses will turn left at the “Y” and cars right.

Congratulations to all our runners who came out for cross country! You are now officially a Liberty Bell Cross Country runner!!
Practices will be held at Liberty Bell on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday until 4:00. Parents will need to pick up runners at the loop close to the tennis courts. Students must have the following to participate: (forms can be printed from the website)
We will have a parent meeting on Tuesday afternoon after practice at our pick up circle. August 16th at 4:00.
Cross Country information will be updated on the www.jcschools.org website. The schedule will be posted as soon as it is available, but be aware that changes do occur. Updates will be highlighted. Check race days for changes!
Transportation will be activity vans. We may also need some parent volunteers.
Participation fee of $25.00 needs to be paid before the first meet on August 27th. Checks can be make out to LBMS. We have school uniforms that runners will use and return.
Runners will need to bring water bottles that they can fill up before practice! It’s HOT so we need to keep our bodies hydrated. Bring a bottle that you can keep up with and put your name on it.
Rules: Be a team player! Support each other at all times! Treat everyone with respect. Clean up area! Cell phones, ipods, or electronic equipment are NOT permitted when running.
Plan to: work hard, have fun, and become a team that supports one another. We will strive to do our personal best at each practice and meet. We compete against many schools in the area.
